2026_Fun_Run Join Parks & Rec for a 5k Fun Run at the Festival of Balloons. Sign up the whole family to race around Cook Park before attending the Festival of Balloons. Arrive early to view the morning hot air balloon launches (balloon activity is weather dependent), prior to the 5k Fun Run and stay after the race to enjoy the pancake breakfast, high flying fun in the carnival, or shop the vendors.

Details about the event:

Distance: 5k Run or Walk. Strollers allowed.
Start Location: Cook Family Park, Shelter 2
Time: 8:30 AM | Registration required. No drop-ins. | 350 max
EARLY Packet Pick Up: June 26 | 4-6:30 PM | Fanno Creek House
Day of Packet Pick-Up: June 27
Cost: $22 | 25% of each registration will be donated to Packed with Pride.
Parking: Parking is available at THS for a fee (card only). We encourage folks to carpool, find street parking in the neighborhood near Cook Park or access from the Tualatin foot bridge, and “warm up” on your way in.
Registering for this race grants you free access into the Balloon Festival Saturday morning BEFORE Noon. Race Bib is the ticket into the event.
Race will be chip timed through Huber Timing and results will be shared and posted following the race.

The annual Festival of Balloons in Cook Park is a summer tradition. Dozens of balloons take flight in the early morning skies (weather permitting), while several events and activities provide fun for the entire family. Carnival rides, a 5K run, a car show and beer garden are among the festivities each year.
